JOB SUMMARY

The Robotics Technician is an individual contributor position with overall responsibility to repair and rebuild SCARA robotic equipment, utilizing a combination of electronics knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical systems. This person is responsible for evaluating robots as to their technical status, providing a written proposal of necessary repairs, fulfilling repairs upon approval, rebuilding as required, and testing robots to the highest quality repair standards to ensure full functionality before handing over to shipping.

The basic responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates a higher level of troubleshooting ability and is able to diagnose malfunctions on multiple product lines and models.
  • Responsible for completing RMA work orders on a timely basis.
  • Performs diagnostic testing, utilizing test software, and in the process completes repair checklists.
  • Performs repairs of electronic and electromechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Exhibits a higher level of electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills at the board component level.
  • Performs Total Quality Checklists verifying Quality Control of other technicians and document failures that need remediation to the Operations Manager.
  • Mentors and assists other technicians in solving complex issues.
  • Completes all documentation and completes a failure analysis corrective action report when applicable.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree – Junior college in electronics technology, technical school, or equivalent military training or certification.
  • 4-5 years experience in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of computer-based office systems and software.
